Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper A Huge Success!

Thank you to all of our hungry parishioners who joined us on Fat Tuesday to empty the pantry and prepare for Lent. We especially want to thank Tom Carroll and Sunset Farms for the 15 pounds of bacon they donated (of which we ate all!), Kim Dudley for getting all of our supplies, Elizabeth Wisenbaker for helping organize and cook, and our awesome youth – Katie Wisenbaker, Andrew Diamond, Andrew Greneker, John David Greneker, David Schert, Hudson Tanner and Carter Elliott for cooking and cleaning. This is truly a group effort which we enjoy doing for our Church family. We raised over $200 to go towards Youth Scholarships for Diocesan events. Leftover pancakes were given to the Soup Kitchen. As always, we appreciate your support!
SENIOR HIGH NEWS
Our high schoolers continue to work hard and play hard with all of their responsibilities and activities finding respite with each other in Sunday School and Wednesday nights. In Sunday School they are focusing on the day’s scriptures and exploring ways to answer God”s call in their busy lives. On Wednesday nights they are continuing to add to their Spiritual Toolboxes, encouraging each other through the daily trials of teenage life and discovering along the way some of their strengths and weaknesses and how those can be used to build up God’s Kingdom.
Those who have been to Happening (which is the majority) encourage all 7th – 9th graders to attend the next New Beginnings, to be held March 1-3, 2013, at Honey Creek. Our own Holly Querin will be the Lead Teen. This weekend is still very special to the senior EYC members, and they want to share the experience with the younger group!
