Youth Sunday

On May 12, our Christ Church youth took over the service once again, and once again they amazed us! Acolytes Christopher Hanson, Joshua Hanson, Grace Tanner and John David Greneker led the way as we joyfully sang “The River is Here” to the accompaniment of Merrill Guice, Jim Drazdowski, Allan Dear, David Schert and Andy Drazdowski on guitar (Thanks, guys!). Cecilia Carroll and Madison Jackson beautifully read the lessons for the day. Then we were treated to an inspiring sermon by Andrew Greneker, who assured us that it really is true that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13), and that God is in control (even in the midst of dealing with a burst appendix). Katie Wisenbaker then led us in a movingly read Prayers of the People. Following the Peace, everyone sang the ever-popular “All in All,” while ushers Hudson Tanner and Robbie Beeland took up the offering, followed closely by Noah Carroll and Cassidy Honeycutt, who took up the UTO offering. Holly Querin and Carter Elliott served as Chalice Administrators for the Eucharist as we sang “Oh Lord, You’re Beautiful” and “Seek Ye First.” Everyone sang “One Name Under Heaven” to close this fantastic service, and we adjourned to the Parish Hall to enjoy ice cream sundaes and snacks set up by Mary and Alexandra Peeples. We are truly blessed in our youth!
