In September of 1973 our Senior Warden was David Sandbach (father of our current senior warden) and our rector was the Rev. Henry I. Louttit, Jr., who currently is enjoying living in Savannah as the (retired) Ninth Bishop of Georgia. Then, as now, Christ Church was starting up its Sunday School season for both children and adults. The September 1973 Vineyard contained this message about the importance of Sunday School for all ages:

Sunday School
All ages — starts Sunday, September 9th. The most crucial ingredient is you. Will you be there? We will have good teachers, an interesting curriculum for the children, and several choices for adults. But will your family participate? It is impossible to be a good Christian if you refuse to think about your faith as an adult.
