On Sunday, October 27, before the 10:00 a.m. service, our speaker was Shane Goodwin from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). He brought his wife, Shanel, and four daughters: Emily, Maggie, Rachael and Kathryn. He has a background in coaching football, acting and teaching special education. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a graduate education degree. He has extensive background in youth activities and missionary work. As the director of the local FCA, he spoke to us about the programs of this organization on the campus of Valdosta State University. Some of the FCA members are not athletes, but they gravitate to the programs of fellowship and bible study. In many cases they provide a family to young people who are far from home.

Their most immediate program will be the FCA dinner and fundraiser on December 5, 2013. The speaker will be Fisher DeBerry, Hall of Fame coach, author, and former U. S. Air Force Academy head football coach. Price includes a seafood buffet.

For more information about how you can work with FCA or attend the dinner, see Allan Dear or call 229 630 5682.
