The Christ Church family enjoyed the annual parish picnic at Grassy Pond on Sunday, November 10, 2013. The Men in Blue cooked barbecued chicken, hamburgers and hotdogs. Approximately 100 people brought food to share that covered 3 tables with vegetables, salads, and desserts. The Hospitality Committee provided plates, utensils and iced tea. All gathered at 12:45 p.m. for the group photo, followed by the blessing and lunch.

The food took up three tables at the picnic. Click this image to see more photographs from this event.

Grassy Pond, a military recreation area on a lake in south Lowndes County, has screened-in pavilions that are available to active and retired military. Several Christ Church members are retired military and helped make the pavilion available to our church. The teenagers enjoyed canoeing in the church canoes while the younger children climbed on the swings and slides in the nearby play area. David Schert, Merrill Guice and Jim Drazdowski played guitars after lunch while parishioners sang, talked and generally enjoyed being together.
