Volunteers for the work of the Lunch Bunch ministry every other Saturday include not only members of Christ Church but also members of other organizations in Valdosta and the surrounding area. One organization that regularly participates is the Azalea City Woman’s Club. This club, an affiliate of the Georgia Federation of Women’s Clubs, won the “Best Woman’s Club of the Year” in 2010 at the Georgia Federation’s annual conference on Jekyll Island largely due to their participation in many local service projects. During the Lunch Bunch Saturday mornings, the Azalea City members help to sort donated food items and pack up lunches to be distributed in a Valdosta housing area to needy children around 12 noon that same day. Christ Church is grateful for their help and for the help of all assisting organizations and other individual volunteers.

The Lunch Bunch ministry will be in operation again on Saturday, February 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall. They will be preparing lunches for 125 children. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please come to the Parish Hall on Saturday and help — no training or special skills required, just helping hands and hearts! If you cannot make it on the 1st, here are some future dates: February 15, March 1, and March 15. Please mark your calendar and plan to help out one Saturday.
